I began painting when I was 5 years old. My teacher gave me the opportunity to paint on a huge piece of paper with tempura paints..the kind that came in huge containers. I remember thinking of the beautiful yellow and gold flowers I passed by on my walk to and from school and decided to paint those. Not only was I able to paint them, but I also was able to stay a little late after class to clean all the brushes. Soon after, my mother told me that my first painting was chosen to be shown at the Laguna Art Festival. That was 52 years ago...and here is that painting:
I hadn't known that this photo existed until late this year. I've come a long way!
